Board Update 6.2025
To our Asian American Christian Collaborative (AACC) Community:
We are so thankful for your continued support of AACC. In the early stages of AACC (founded in 2021), the organization operated on a volunteer-led, staff-driven approach to governance. This structure was appropriate given the urgent priorities during the early years of AACC. As the organization has grown significantly in both size, impact, and influence, there was an increased need for a more governance model of leadership on the board level. As such, we are excited to share that the AACC Board of Directors has renewed our commitment to provide governance and oversight to the organization for its long-term health and growth. You should also expect to hear from the board through updates like these more regularly.
The Board of Directors are focused on the following during this season:
Organizational Sustainability, Oversight, and Growth:
The Board has been reorganized to establish more sustainable governance practices, ensure regular meetings, consistent oversight, and deepen clear organizational accountability and development.
With the growth we’ve seen, the Board commits to providing robust fiscal oversight, including regular reviews and reports.
We will develop and enhance clear channels of communication and systems of accountability moving toward fostering a more collegial, supportive, and sustainable environment of a Christ-centered community.
Strategic Planning:
The Board will take a more active role in shaping AACC's priorities to continue to reflect the collective vision of the organization and its stakeholders.
We look forward to keeping our community updated with our growth and progress. We believe AACC continues to be strengthened and enabled to more effectively advance its mission and as a movement. Thank you again for your support. We value your partnership and look forward to continuing to work together to serve the Asian American Christian community.
Sincerely,
Soong-Chan Rah, Chair

2025 Volunteer Retreat!
Cloud Gate at Millenium Park: a.k.a. “The Bean”
Several of our AACC team members were in Chicago for a team retreat (thanks to a generous donor!) where we spent time in fellowship, including with some of our spouses! We visited historic churches, explored cross-racial solidarity, and did a bunch of touristy things. Our hope is that this will be a more regular occurrence!
AACC is a volunteer driven community. If you want to see Asian American Christians established in their spiritual and cultural heritage and champion Asian American Christianity and the church, consider joining our team! Learn more on our website!

Welcome to the aacc update
It all begins with an idea.
Welcome! This is a space for people to get brief updates about AACC. We’ve heard that people would like to have a place to receive updates about the activities that AACC is engaged in - and how to engage with AACC as a result. Our hopes is that this is a place where you can get updates from our leadership.
AACC has been actively serving the Asian American Christian community - especially in advocacy efforts - over the last five years. Since our inception in March of 2021, we’ve been responding to many of the urgent issues that have emerged around anti-Asian racism, anti-Black racism, anti-Brown racism, anti-immigrant sentiment, gun violence, religious liberty, protecting houses of worship, educational equity, refugee rights, and so forth. We’ve worked with local municipalities to federal entities - including the White House. Our work has been covered by all major media outlets and even featured on ABC’s Soul of a Nation - Juneteenth Special.
We have gathered pastors and activists, emerging leaders and leaders who are looking to transition into their final quarter, lay leaders and working professionals that want to exercise their gifts for the kingdom, and beyond. We’ve hosted Next Gen cohorts, mental health webinars, and engaged in advocacy work. Out of these conversations, we learned that people want to us to bring them together, which is why we host different gatherings (whether in Philly or Chicago or LA, etc.) and why we are hosting our first conference in the DMV area (Dulles Airport) from October 27-29, 2025! We are expecting a good turnout, so please consider attending (and bring your friends!).
